sigstar

Collect market, on-chain, news and macro data, and explain, forecast and alert on crypto price moves from every angle. In development. Python, Apache-2.0…

What it is being built to do

Prices alone don't say why a market moved. sigstar collects the data that does, organises it in one place, and analyses each move from every angle.

  1. Collect from public APIs and feeds: prices and volume from several exchanges, derivatives funding and open interest, a market sentiment index, news coverage and its tone, macro series, and on-chain activity from chainstar.
  2. Organise everything into tested tables with dbt, and a daily feature table per asset, stored in DuckDB.
  3. Explain any move: the drivers that coincided with it, ranked, each with its evidence: a funding spike, a burst of news with its headlines and links, a change in tone, stablecoin flows, a macro shift. Coinciding is not causing, and sigstar says so.
  4. Forecast prices, volatility and volume with statistical models, always shown next to a naive baseline, so you can see when a forecast doesn't help.
  5. Alert on rules you write ("funding above its 95th percentile while news tone falls"), each alert with its evidence.

How it works

Built on dlt for collection, dbt for organising and DuckDB for storage, with chainstar as its on-chain source.
